1. Agreement to Terms

LankaGuide is a local business directory that provides information about businesses and services in Sri Lanka. Our Site allows users to:

  • Search and browse local business listings
  • View business information including contact details
  • Access guides and informational content
  • Submit business listings for inclusion in our directory

3. Use of the Site

3.1 Permitted Use

You may use our Site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree to use the Site only for personal, non-commercial purposes unless you have our written consent.

4. Business Listings

4.1 Accuracy of Information

While we strive to maintain accurate and up-to-date business listings, we do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any listing information. Business details, including operating hours, contact information, and services, may change without notice.

4.2 Listing Submissions

If you submit a business listing, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are authorized to submit information on behalf of the business
  • All information provided is accurate and truthful
  • The listing does not violate any third-party rights
  • You will promptly update any information that becomes inaccurate

4.3 Removal of Listings

We reserve the right to remove or modify any listing at our sole discretion, including listings that violate these Terms or are deemed inappropriate.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our Content

The Site and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by LankaGuide and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

5.2 User-Submitted Content

By submitting content to our Site (including business listings), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use, modify, display, and distribute such content in connection with our services.

6. Third-Party Links and Content

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by LankaGuide. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We do not warrant the offerings of any of these entities or their websites.

7. Advertising

Our Site displays advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks, including Google AdSense. These advertisements may be targeted based on your browsing history and other information. We do not warrant that:

  • The Site is free of viruses or other harmful components
  • The results of using the Site will meet your requirements
  • Business listings are accurate, complete, or current

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL LANKAGUIDE, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Site
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the Site
  • Any content obtained from the Site
  • Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content
  • Any reliance on business listing information provided on the Site

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LankaGuide and its licensees, employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of and access to the Site
  • Your violation of any term of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including any copyright, property, or privacy right
  • Any content you submit to the Site

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Site after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you are no longer authorized to use the Site.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
